Experience the Craft

Immerse yourself in the world of the Himalayas through dedicated films screening alongside the exhibition. Explore the stories behind the craft, the land, and the communities who keep these traditions alive.

On display will be a collection of portraits of Raziya Bano, an artisan from Kargil, India. These portraits are part of "The Right to Be Seen: Reframing the Passport Photo in Craft," a series built around the concept of the unfiltered identity photograph. In this collection, artisans interpret their own faces through their unique hand skills. Conceptualized by The Voice of Fashion (an Indian fashion magazine) and curated by craft and social designer Juhi Pandey, the series was originally showcased at Journeying Across the Himalayas, Royal Enfield’s multidisciplinary cultural festival in Delhi, India.

The exhibition-cum-curated store will also feature past collections under The Himalayan Knot, including design partnerships such as Royal Enfield x EKA for Looms of Ladakh, Royal Enfield x Sonam Dubal for The Action Northeast Trust, and Royal Enfield x Countrymade for both The Action Northeast Trust and The Woolknitters. These collaborations exemplify sustainable fashion rooted in cultural authenticity.
