London Craft Week: Circular Craft - Creating from Waste

A talk and presentation with designers from India and Sri Lanka of how waste materials are being crafted to create innovative designed products, waste solutions and uplift local communities.

Featuring winners of our 'FSP Craft Futures Sri Lanka Award' in the category of 'Purpose-led Design Award' - Rice + Carry and Alke.

Rice + Carry, a Sri Lankan based brand creating accessories from recycled rice sacks and beach waste such as fishing nets and plastic. Sara Nazoor, founder of Alke is a jewellery and metal artist based in Sri Lanka. Her practice centres on transforming recyled materials- primarily brass, PET plastic and seas glass. Both award winners have purpose led studios employing and training local women to uplift communities.
